The Lafayette Consolidated Government's Storm Drain Art Program was a public arts initiative aimed at illustrating and raising awareness for watershed protection in Acadiana! Each storm drain mural reflected the local ecology, community, and culture of our area! 

Upon selection, I thought the idea of George Crawshington crossing the Vermillion River was a quirky, eyecatching way to encapsulate the idea that all drains lead to the Vermillion, and help these little guys on their journey.
